only with monit 5.0 and later?

I read that m/monit will work with monit 5.0 and later.

Since monit 5.0 is beta, m/monit is alpha currently and I want to put
this on a production system, is there a better alternative?
I want to monitor multiple servers from one central place and be able
to restart the daemons as well.
Is m/monit going to be released soon?

Also, is there an IRC channel for monit or m/monit?
