Hello all,
After much work in developing m/monit, we are pleased to inform that
we will now release the first version of m/monit 2.0. Since the
release of 1.0, we have put much work getting m/monit to a
professional stage. We have now an excellent application server
framework in place which we have built m/monit on and the necessary
User Interface components to make a good web-application.
The release of m/monit 2.0 is an alpha release for two reasons: 1) it
is not tested extensively and 2) we want to add a few more functions
before a full release. The most important function we wish to add is
an "alert function", which entails that monit alerts can be more
efficiently configured and emitted from m/monit instead of from each
monit daemon.
You can download m/monit from, http://tildeslash.com/mmonit/ and watch
a screen cast demonstrating m/monit here, http://tildeslash.com/mmonit/screencast/mmonit.mov
M/monit wil require monit version 5.0 which we also release today.
Monit 5.0 can be downloaded from, http://tildeslash.com/monit/dist/beta/monit-5.0-beta1.tar.gz
Because of the extensive unpaid workload it has taken us to create m/
monit over the past years, we find it necessary to charge a fee. M/
monit 2.0 licenses will sell for 299 Euro including email support. M/
monit 2.0 including source code will be available for 599 Euro + an
hourly fee for other support.
The release plan is, alpha version in april, beta version in may and
the final 2.0 release in june. In the alpha and beta release period, m/
monit 2.0 is free.
Best regards
